Like the rest of the country, Texas has an affordable housing crisis on its hands. Texans are struggling to afford homes, whether they are buying or renting.
According to the latest research, a Texas family needs to make more than $100,000 per year to buy a typical home in the Houston or Dallas-Fort Worth region. In the Austin area, a buyer needs to earn over $140,000 a year to afford a home at the median sales price.
