Blue House

Images / Description

The Blue House investigates the benign and the familiar and posits them in relation to site and flow in formal and experiential terms. It questions the given datum of the ground, the sky and the program by inverting the core to a series of visual and phenomenal corridors, vertically and horizontally, collapsing the distant views of the public and private spaces and simultaneously extending them. Sky and water are joined through reflection of the polished terrazzo floor. View and water are collapsed into layers of glass and water. It enables the flow of light and air to carve out and to link. It defines the new swamp.
