Hollywood Central Performing Arts (HCPA)

Images / Description

The existing building for the Hollywood Central Performing Arts in Hollywood, Florida, lies in a site with great potential for growth if transformed and developed as a gateway from the south to the downtown core.  This project’s intent is to raise the functional and the symbolic presentation of the building to enable a high quality theater and a strong public image for the city while maintain its legacy as a place for exemplary performances.

The site expands from x to x? and the proposal preserves existing structures within the site as they contribute to the cultural and historical context of the city. These structures are to be reprogrammed to house school program activities, a library and administration facilities, thus linking the cultural and educational facilities together. The site also provides pedestrian access from the neighborhood to the school and to the shared Young Circle ArtsPark facilities.
